Nearly ten years later, the lessons Randy learned about the power of the Internet as the most influential communications medium of his, or perhaps any, generation are applied to every project Tumoki touches. Over that time the Internet has evolved from an informative, yet largely static, mimic of print media to an interactive, dynamic environment, combining text, imagery, audio and video into a tapestry of ideas big and small. Web 2.0 has evolved the Internet into a two-way communication street, where the line between writer and reader, viewer and producer, creator and consumer continually blurs.
The web has given voices to so many people previously muted by the lack of audience and opportunity. Trends, careers, indeed entire economies, are propelled or discarded largely on the basis of the opinions of a now very vocal minority (even today, barely 1/3 of the global population is considered an "Internet User").
What was once a marketing luxury has become a necessity. Despite it's lack of visual panache, Randy's first website attracted the attention of a number of film professionals that continue to make waves in the industry to this day. Even then he quickly realized how important a vibrant online presence was to anyone seeking the attention of an ever distracted audience. Now, as then, the web remains the most powerful means for promoting a business, a person, a product or simply a thought or idea into the collective consciousness.
